Bensen is design and manufacturing group that established by Niels Bendtsen, which has created Torii chair. Torii is a simple wooden chair but subtle and sophisticated. Although Torii chair have minimal appearance and simple construction but still comfortable and sturdy, making it fit for residential and commercial use. Torri is the Japanese name for the entrance of the wood arches to Shinto shrines in Japan, and in English it means ‘bird perch’. This motif is perfect to describe the proportion of different chairs and built in traditional joinery, but still produces the chair with a sense of harmony and serenity inherent. [Via]
