Solar City Tower by RAFFA

The project reflects a message from the people who face the future. It is delegation of the behavior on the inside. Our project, stands in the tradition of “buildings/cities as a machine”, will give good energy to the Rio de Janeiro city and its citizens when applying natural resources. We trust to reach the international Olympic message to the political attractiveness. After hosting the United Nations Earth Summit in 1992, Rio de Janeiro will return to be a starting point for the global green movement and sustainable development for urban structures. It may even become a symbol for first zero carbon Olympics.
This project composed of solar power plants that generate energy for the day of each city and the Olympic village. Excessive energy will be pumped as the sea water into the tower. By night, the water can be taken out, with the help of a turbine, generating electricity for night. Electricity generated can be used to light the tower or the city. On special event, this machine “building “changes to an impressive natural wonders: an urban waterfall, a symbol for the forces of nature. In the same time, he will become a representation of the collective consciousness of the major cities in the surrounding landscape. Through a town square which is located 60 meters above sea level you get access to the building. Through the amphitheater, you reach the entrance is located on the ground floor.
The entrance and amphitheater area can serve as a place for social meeting and occasions. Public space can also be accessed from this point. Cafeteria and shop located below the waterfalls and spectacular views. Public elevator takes visitors to the observation deck and urban balcony.
