Bertha armchair has designed by Donna Wilson for SCP. Bertha armchair is an interesting joint project between SCP and the Shorefast Foundation on Fogo Island. The design takes inspiration from the traditional boat building found on the island. The frame is made from FSC approved Douglas Fir and is created to give rigidity and strength. The sides of the frame are flat, while four back panels gently kick outwards like a boats hull. The feet is part of the frame design, this provide the sense of beautiful crafted continuous line. The loose drop seat has elastic webbing with neatly fitting feather. The back cushions and down upholstered in Bora Da Willow fabric. Bertha armchair is made in England. [Via]
Designer Matthew Hilton has created Lucas armchair and sofa for SCP. The Lucas armchair and sofa expertly embed a traditional design typology with modern aesthetics. The design combines clean lines with smooth barriers curves to make a piece of furniture that is comfortable and completely proportioned. Ingenious details such as the taper and flare of the turned oak legs and the slight protrusion of the seat cushion give serenity. The armchair is handmade in our Norfolk factory with an FSC approved beech frame, jute webbing and hessian straps.
The sofa is made with an FSC approved beech frame, jute webbing and hessian strap. The armchair and sofa are covered with a mixture of ingredients that include natural fibers, animal hair and wool. Both are made in the England. [Via]
