Simon Legald has designed Onkel sofa for for Danish brand, Normann Copenhagen. Onkel is a sofa that combines simplicity with a modern form of the soft curve of the past. Onkel name is taken from the Danish word, meaning uncle. The selection of material adds a sensuous side with its characteristically Nordic connotations. This sofa consists of a simple upholstered frame with cushions. The inspiration for the cushions comes from upholstered sofas typical of the pre-1950s era. The materials on Onkel make dynamic effects with plain colored frame, the back side with mottled, cushion and color lacquered under frame. All is under the shade of the same color.
