Shylight has been exhibited at the Design Days Dubai 2012. Shylight is a lamp that hangs from the ceiling and hidden in a cocoon, designed by Studio Drift. It is based on the natural process in which the flowers attract and repel pollen collected by bees. When the lights came on fell out of its cocoon, open petals and float down, then closes again when it is turned off. LED brightness and speed of movement is fully programmable and can be controlled by the I-phone or I-pad. [Via]
Bertjan Pot has designed a unique hanging lamp called ‘Stairway to Heaven. ‘Stairway to Heaven’ is a lamp with a safety ladder form, lit up like carnival lights hanging from the ceiling. It all begins from a new safety ladder that we requesting for studio and the carnival lights we used for a different project. When they arrived it suddenly seemed like the perfect illogical combination to create, rawness and glitter. ‘Stairway to Heaven’ became a brilliant and interesting object. [Via]
