Patricia Urquiola has designed Husk armchair for B&B Italia. The basic elements of this chair are the hard shell of Hirek ® and a series of soft pillows. The Husk armchair is the result of a long development process to make a versatile armchair that is unique in itself. Three typologies of cushion are available: standard, large and very large or with a headrest, an ottoman footrest is also available. Playing on the wide range of colors and finishes of the shell (in four-toned recycled plastic material), the swivel base-frame with four spokes (in black painted, brushed light oak or grey oak finish) and covers (numerous types of leather or fabric), Husk can radically alter its appearance, from a single color to an extremely bright or subtly elegant style. With this project, B&B Italia fulfill the theme of ecology by using recyclable materials, and components that can be fully dismantled in the future, therefore simplifying the process of recycling and reduced environmental impact.
