Moorhead & Moorhead is an industrial design studio based in New York City, builded by two brothers Granger and Robert Moorhead. One of its creations is a Felt stool, designed for Lerival. An investigation in structural folding, a Felt stool is consist of a sheet of felt, folded and riveted to simultaneously make structural volume and upholstery. With the spirit of origami, a series of folding patterns were developed, each starting with a single sheet of industrial felt. The exploration evolved, the patterns is refined with use material more efficient and produce a comfortable seat saddle. [Via]
