Team 7 has awarded interior innovation award 2012 for its creation the Aye chair. The Aye chair is a complete blend of beautiful shapes and convenience, designed by Jacob Strobel. Fine leather seams encompass slender upholstered chair, while precisely part for defined edges guarantee interplay with the generous curve radii. The striking side cut of the backrest gives Aye chair an airy appearance, that functioning as an area to hold and move the chair. With the flexible backrest, ergonomic of armrests and soft, make the Aye chair a comfortable seat. Aye chairs are available in 22 colors and four different types of wood, with or without armrests. Emilia Borgthor has designed the Surtur chair. Surtur is the name of the fire god in Norse mythology. In 1963 the island of Surtsey was made from a volcanic eruption that started at the bottom of the sea surface. Surtur chair is created inspired from the designer who grew up around the volcano with remarkable energy. Surtur is a new innovative chair with ergonomics in mind. Philippe Starck has created the master’s chair for Kartell. The seat is roomy and comfortable. The back seat is the most interesting features, certainly, characterised by the completeness and empty spaces made by the curvaceous criss-crossing lines of three different backs descending to meet together at the seat. The materials used modified batch-dyed polypropylene. [Via]
