Kimihiko Okadahas designing Toda House. The house is situated in residential area at Hiroshima, overlooking a view of the Inland Sea and Miyajima. Land area is expanded into the form of a platform with some levels. The architecture was requested to have a view over the roof of the neighboring house, standing one level lower, to consider security, for the house is located at the edge of the residential area, and to leave some space for extension when the client opens a small shop in the future. Slab and roof consists of one continuous plate. The variations in the circulation and range of spatial relations are achieved by placing a ladder penetration. The extended plate created for the future extension and softened the impression from the ground level. The gate wall changes its height suitable to the thickness of slab. [Via]
