A moment ago Ostrea sofa won a competition of the Fellowship of Reinforcement in Copenhagen. Ostrea have two-seat sofa for the public space with unique design. This sofa made by Swedish design student at the Danish Design School, Annika Goransson which plentiful decorated with tassels, suburbs and curtains. Ostrea is her latest piece and modern version of the 19th century’s upholstery furniture.
Ostrea sofa has been exhibited at the Danish Museum of Art and Design. It modify old furniture ornaments to translate the structure into bombastic form, contrast with organic flow between rough and smooth, light and dark. Construction be composed of sofa carved in styrofoam solid base. The sofa is covered in part with cold foam for comfort, wool fabric glued and stitched together by hand. Orange yarn to define the flexible sofa and hand sewn. [Via]
