Rami Side Table By Ilhoon Roh Studio

Design Studio IL HOON ROH will shown the hand crafted ‘Rami Side Table’ to the public for the first time at the Salone Satellite 2013. Rami side table is made from hand-woven carbon fiber with straps 1.2 km (approximately one mile) long was weaved into a three-dimensional form by hand. The resulting shape is not determined in advance but allowed to be produced into final form. The designer also demonstrated full potential of carbon fiber by making a design that is several times stronger than steel yet weighs less than 1 kg and can be lifted with a finger. Rami series is highly customizable and can be manufactured into various types of furniture including chairs, benches, console tables, and side tables with different metal surfaces. [Via]
