Designer Luca Nichetto has designed Bistrot for Casamania. Bistrot is a set of coffee tables, as its name, it taken from small bistro and brasserie tables that found along Parisian cafes. The major concept behind the typology of Bistrot is to pair a small base, which leaves room for people to move around it, with a tabletop large enough to contain more than just drinks. The Bistrot is created with a conical in base, as a response for the need of a center of gravity that capable of supporting the table’s rather large surface. It can be created in various materials, ranging from wood to laminates till stone. [Via]
The French furniture brand, La Chance has launched Float table at MOST during Salone del Mobile 2012. The Float is a large low table with a conical shape that looks like floating on a stretch of water. The designer Luca Nichetto intend that behind this project was to make a functional object exploring in details the metal leaf turnery technology. Thanks to this technology it’s possible to make circular volumes in various dimensions that are typically used for aircraft components. A Float table has a very simple form that allow you play with the shades of lights between the cone’s intense color and the reflective steel base make it a scenographic object and worthwhile furniture for the living room.
