o4i design studio has designed the Dent chair for Bla Station. The Dent chair has a dented surface that challenges the idea of the slim and beautiful. Although dented, Dent is a comfortable shell chair with many uses to occupy most of the needs in public and private environments. Antoinette has been presented in Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010, Stockholm. Cate & Nelson designed Antoinette for manufacturers Bla Station. Antoinette is a room divider, sofa and bench all in one. Designers wish to make a new concept in furniture that will mix well with with contemporary architecture’s fondness for open spaces. Antoinette divides the room with the elegance of the liver and can be disassembled and stacked “flat” for storage when not used. This Cate & Nelson design is inspired by Marie-Antoinette and feminine forms. The corset-like structure is covered with a translucent mesh held in place by a belt around the “waist” of the frame. The semi-transparent mesh assures that users are not really isolated from their environments but still able to react and take part in what is happening around them. [Via]
