Mesh Architectures has designed the courtyard house belonging Steve Burns, the former host of the children’s show “Blue’s Clues. His new residence is a 2,100-square-foot that created for the amenities of the resident and his guests. Steve desiring to live in an open space, suited for his new found love: music. By keeping only three brick walls of the existing structure, the architect made a modern space with fabulous features, like the catwalk on the second floor. The major rooms of the house – master bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen – all have access to the private courtyard with a deck created from salvaged Coney Island planks. The converted garage became a fabulous house with the assisted of Eric Liftin at Mesh Architectures, known for repurposing old materials. The interior courtyard was cut into the shape of the structure in order to create fresh atmosphere, open air without splitting the zoning regulations. [Via]
