
Sebastian Herkner will launch a Bell table, its first collaboration with ClassiCon at the Milan Salone del Mobile in April 2012. A Bell table is made using the lightweight material, fragile material of glass as the basis for the metal that looks to float above it. Hand-blown in the traditional way using a wooden mold, the transparent tinted glass base asserts a statue presence in space, contrasting curiously with the solid brass frame on top also forming a harmonious unit that recalling the curving silhouette of a bell. With its appealing reflective surfaces and contrasting materials, a side table adds a special touch to domestic interiors. It celebrates the beauty of the materials with their colors and surfaces, along with the virtues of hand-craftsmanship. A Bell table is a masterwork of traditional hand craftsmanship.
